The Digital Experience team is responsible for delivering best-in-class online shopping experiences across Staples’ B2B and B2C digital channels. Partnering closely with Merchandising, Marketing, Product, UX, Content, Analytics, and Technology teams, the organization is focused on driving digital growth, improving customer experiences, and optimizing category performance through data-driven decision making and continuous innovation.
The Senior Manager, Digital Experience – Site Category Management is responsible for leading the digital experience and business performance for a key category across Staples.com. This role serves as the digital business owner for the category, driving site experience, conversion, sales, margin, and customer engagement. The Senior Manager will develop category strategies and roadmaps, leverage customer and performance data to identify opportunities, and partner closely with Merchandising and cross-functional teams to execute growth initiatives. This position requires a strong blend of ecommerce expertise, digital merchandising experience, strategic thinking, analytical skills, and people leadership.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the digital experience and business performance for a key category, driving conversion, revenue, margin, and customer engagement.
- Develop and execute category digital strategies and roadmaps, securing alignment and buy-in from senior leadership.
- Partner closely with Merchandising, Marketing, Product, UX, Content, Analytics, and Technology teams to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
- Utilize web analytics, customer insights, and performance data to identify opportunities and drive business growth.
- Drive go-to-market activation and execution for major category initiatives and seasonal events.
- Influence product roadmaps and define business requirements that improve site capabilities and customer experience.
- Identify, prioritize, and execute opportunities for innovation, optimization, and category growth.
- Influence testing and experimentation roadmaps to improve conversion and site performance.
- Develop executive-level communications, presentations, and business recommendations.
- Manage competing priorities and balance requests across multiple merchant and stakeholder groups.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Digital Experience associates while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results.

What’s needed - Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of progressive digital, ecommerce, digital merchandising, customer experience, or related experience.
- Experience leading a team.
- Experience driving digital business performance and customer experience initiatives.
- Strong digital merchandising experience and understanding of ecommerce best practices.
- Experience working with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proven ability to influence and coordinate across highly matrixed organizations.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing technology or consumer product categories.
- Experience with web analytics and digital performance measurement tools, including Adobe Analytics.
- Experience with content management systems such as Bloomreach or similar platforms.
- Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
- Experience using AI tools to improve productivity and business outcomes.
- Experience leading testing and optimization initiatives, including A/B testing.
- Experience partnering closely with Merchandising organizations in a retail or ecommerce environment.
- Experience developing category roadmaps, business cases, and executive presentations.

The salary rangerepresentsthe expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specificbasepay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity.In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
