The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical individual contributor role within Finance Data Services (FDS), supporting multiple finance functions by designing, developing, and delivering scalable data and analytics solutions. This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into structured data solutions, actionable insights, and process improvements.

The position emphasizes data pipeline development, automation, analytics, and governance, enabling accurate, timely, and decision-ready reporting. Leveraging deep analytical expertise and business acumen, the Senior Business Analyst independently leads complex workstreams, anticipates risks, and delivers solutions that improve operational efficiency and business outcomes.

What you’ll be doing: 

Data Engineering & Data Management

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support finance reporting and analytics needs

  • Integrate, cleanse, and rationalize data from multiple systems to establish accurate and governed datasets (“single source of truth”)

  • Proactively identify and remediate data quality issues; define and enforce data governance standards

Business Analysis & Solution Design

  • Partner with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders to gather and document business requirements

  • Translate business needs into technical specifications, data models, and analytics solutions

  • Independently manage and deliver complex analysis supporting budgeting, forecasting, and operational decision-making

Analytics & Insights

  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities

  • Develop actionable insights and recommendations that drive business performance and efficiency

  • Present findings through dashboards, reports, and executive-level summaries

Automation & Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency

  • Develop and support tools, scripts, or analytic solutions (e.g., SQL/Python-based automation)

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Finance processes

Documentation & Governance

  • Document analytical processes, methodologies, and outputs to ensure auditability and repeatability

  • Support governance initiatives, including data definitions, controls, and enterprise data standards

Project Execution & Coordination

  • Lead or support multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery against timelines and objectives

  • Anticipate and mitigate risks, escalating issues appropriately

  • Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on analytical approaches and tools

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science) or equivalent work experience. 

  • 5+ years of experience performing business analysis, data analysis, or analytics solution delivery

  • 2+ years of experience using Python for data analysis or automation (object-oriented programming preferred)

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL with the ability to design and optimize complex queries

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable insights

  • Proven experience working cross-functionally with Finance or business stakeholders

  • Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements

  • Strong problem-solving skills with evidence of resolving complex business challenges

  • Experience delivering at least 2+ end-to-end analytical or data solutions/projects

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical discipline

  • Experience with enterprise data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AS400, or equivalent)

  • Experience building data pipelines and automated workflows in a production environment

  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and financial data structures

  • Experience developing dashboards or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

  • Prior experience leading workstreams or mentoring junior analysts

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
