Technical Analyst I – Retail IT Implementations

Team Summary:

The Retail IT Implementations team is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the deployment of technology solutions across Staples retail locations. The team partners closely with Store Operations, Construction, vendors, field technicians, development teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure technology initiatives are successfully implemented and supported throughout their lifecycle. 

Role Summary:

The Technical Analyst I plays a key role in supporting retail technology initiatives across the organization. This position coordinates technology deployments, analyzes operational requirements, supports implementation activities, and helps ensure retail technology solutions are successfully delivered and maintained. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and enjoys collaborating with a variety of business and technical stakeholders to solve problems and drive results. 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Coordinate retail technology initiatives including store openings, relocations, remodels, closures, refreshes, and special projects. 
  • Support deployment planning and implementation activities for retail technology solutions.
  • Analyze project requirements, schedules, dependencies, and operational constraints to help ensure successful project execution. 
  • Partner with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to coordinate technology deployments and operational support activities. 
  • Investigate operational and technology-related issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions. 
  • Support technology lifecycle management activities, compliance initiatives, and security remediation efforts. 
  • Maintain deployment documentation, asset management records, implementation plans, and operational reporting. 
  • Monitor project activities, assess risks, and escalate issues when needed to support business continuity and successful implementations. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and deployment effectiveness.

What's Needed – Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience in IT support, technology operations, project coordination, retail technology, or a related field. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience maintaining documentation, records, reports, or asset inventories.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information, identify issues, and recommend solutions. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams. 
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment. 
  • Availability to support occasional after-hours technology deployments or implementation activities. 

What's Needed – Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting retail technology environments, point-of-sale systems, store systems, or field technology operations. 
  • Experience coordinating technology deployments, upgrades, installations, or implementation projects.
  • Exposure to IT service management, incident management, change management, or asset management processes. 
  • Experience working with third-party technology vendors, service providers, or implementation partners. 
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, software deployment, endpoint hardware, or technology infrastructure. 
  • Knowledge of security remediation, patch management, compliance initiatives, or technology lifecycle management.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
